Itinerary

Day 1: Buddhist ceremony in temple then horse riding on Lake Baikal

Guide meets you at Nizhneangarsk airport, Severobaikalsk train station or your hotel. Before lunch we will visit the area’s main Datsan, where we will get to see Buryat Buddhist monks chanting a mantra and performing a blessing ceremony for our trip.

After lunch our first day of horse riding will begin on the shores of Lake Baikal. We will ride through spectacular wilderness scenery including towering mountains, stunning beaches, dense taiga forest and of course breathtaking views over the lake itself. In the afternoon we reach a small guest house on the shores of Slyudyanskiy Lake where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2: Horse Riding Great Baikal Trail and visiting Stone Age remains

Ride our horses along the Great Baikal Trail until we reach the Omul Barrel, where we have lunch. Continue on to visit the Ludar caves, once inhabited by the stone age people who painted the area’s petroglyphs, and the nearby stone fortifications, possibly left by the Mongol hordes. In the evening we transfer back to Severobaikalsk to overnight in a hotel.

Day 3: Hakusy hot springs and hike to Cape of Love

After breakfast we take a 3-hour boat ride across Lake Baikal to the hot springs at Hakusy, where we have lunch and spend a few hours relaxing. In the evening we do a hike up to the Cape of Love to view the sunset. Overnight at Hakusy.

Day 4: Round hike from Ayaya Bay to alpine Lake Frolikha

Transfer to Ayaya Bay and 6 hour round hike to the spectacular alpine Lake Frolikha. Return to overnight at Hakusy.

Day 5: Hakusy hot springs then departure

After a morning of relaxing in Hakusy’s hot springs we transfer to Severobaikalsk railway station or Nizhneangarsk airport.
